ANUGERAH DAN KEDAULATAN ALLAH DALAM PELARIAN YANG TERKEJAR: Sebuah Refleksi dari Eksposisi Yunus 1:1-17

Abstract

Yunus merupakan seorang nabi yang mencoba lari dari panggilan Alllah saat implikasi panggilan tersebut tidak menyenangkan hatinya. Di tengah pelarian akan panggilan pelayanan bagi Niniwe, anugerah dan kedaulatan Allah justru bekerja atas hidup Yunus. Artikel ini akan membahas mengenai anugerah dan kedaulatan Allah dalam kaitannya dengan respons Yunus terhadap panggilan Allah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kajian pustaka, dengan pendekatan eksposisi naratif terhadap teks Yunus 1:1-17. Melalui eksposisi naratif, penulis membahas dua bagian utama: pelarian yang sia-sia (ayat 1-9) dan pengejaran yang berdampak (ayat 10-17). Artikel ini akan menunjukkan, meskipun Yunus gagal dalam ketaatannya, rencana Allah tidak pernah gagal dan anugerah Allah tetap bekerja bahkan dalam ketidaktaatan manusia. Anugerah dan kedaulatan Allah bahkan tidak terbatas pada bangsa Israel, melainkan juga berlaku bagi bangsa-bangsa lain, termasuk Niniwe.

Jonah was a prophet who tried to run away from God’s call when the implications of the call did not please him. In the midst of his flight from the call to serve Nineveh, God’s grace and sovereignty worked in Jonah’s life. This article will discuss God’s grace and sovereignty in relation to Jonah’s response to God’s call. The method used is the literature review method, with a narrative exposition approach to the text of Jonah 1:1-17. Through narrative exposition, the author discusses two main sections: the futile flight (verses 1-9) and the impactful pursuit (verses 10-17). This article will show that, despite Jonah's failure in obedience, God's plan never fails and God's grace continues to work even in the midst of human disobedience. God's grace and sovereignty is not even limited to the nation of Israel, but also applies to other nations, including Nineveh
