Imperatif Ganda dalam 1 Petrus 4:7-11 sebagai Dasar Manifestasi Partisipium dalam Kesadaran Eskatologis: Suatu Kajian Eksegesis Gramatikal dan Relevansinya bagi Gereja Masa Kini

Abstract
This article examines 1 Peter 4:7-11, focusing on the two main imperatives, s?phron?sate (“be sensible”) and n?psate (“be sober”), as the basis for Christian ethics of love and service within eschatological awareness. Using an exegetical method with a historical-grammatical and contextual approach, this study finds that these imperatives form the foundation for all acts of love, hospitality, and ministry mentioned by Peter. Eschatological awareness is not passive waiting but an active orientation toward responsible love and glorifying God. Its relevance for the Indonesian church lies in the challenges of modernity, digital faith, and spiritual decline that demand renewal in transformative ministry. Thus, 1 Peter 4:7-11 serves as a theological foundation for shaping Christian community ethics rooted in love and eschatological hope.
Tulisan ini bertujuan menelaah 1 Petrus 4:7-11 dengan fokus pada dua imperatif utama, s?phron?sate (kuasailah dirimu) dan n?psate (waspadalah), sebagai dasar etika kasih dan pelayanan dalam kesadaran eskatologis. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksegesis dengan pendekatan historis-gramatikal yang diikuti refleksi kontekstual terhadap kehidupan gereja masa kini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kedua imperatif tersebut membentuk fondasi bagi seluruh tindakan kasih, keramahan, dan pelayanan karunia yang dijabarkan Petrus. Kesadaran eskatologis bukan sekadar penantian pasif, melainkan orientasi hidup yang aktif dan bertanggung jawab dalam mengasihi sesama serta memuliakan Allah. Relevansinya bagi gereja Indonesia tampak dalam tantangan modernitas, digitalisasi iman, dan krisis spiritualitas yang menuntut pembaruan praksis kasih dan pelayanan transformatif. Dengan demikian, teks 1 Petrus 4:7-11 menjadi landasan teologis bagi pembentukan etika komunitas Kristen yang berakar pada kasih dan pengharapan eskatologis.
