MIMESIS DALAM YOHANES 12:26: Analisis Etika Yohanes
Main Article Content
Abstract
Studi ini terinspirasi dari monografi Cornelis Bennema pada tahun 2017 yang berjudul Mimesis in the Johannine Literature: A Study in Johannine Ethics.
This study aims to analyze the concept of mimesis as an ethical aspect in the Gospel of John. This study is inspired by Cornelis Bennema's 2017 monograph entitled Mimesis in the Johannine Literature: A Study in Johannine Ethics. He raised an important thesis, namely that mimesis is at the core of John's ethics. Mimesis as an aspect of ethics is not an unfamiliar theme in NT studies, but in the Gospel of John mimesis is a recent discovery. According to Bennema, the concept of mimesis can be found in other forms of language found in John's Gospel. Using Bennema's construction of language and the concept of mimesis, this study will follow the path he has started. The research will focus on a deeper textual analysis of John 12:26 as a research sample using the historical-grammatical method. The study aims to delve deeper into the concept of mimesis in the text so as to see how it relates to John's ethical aspects. This study will provide a deeper affirmation of Bennema's previous studies and show the relevance of the concept of mimesis as an important aspect in the ethics of John's Gospel and the study of New Testament ethics.
